Helmets, leather pants and the rumble of motorcycle engines will fill the air May 30 as Covenant
Hospice kicks off its fourth annual Brewton Biker Bash at Burnt Corn Creek Park in downtown Brewton.
Jackie Crews, development manager and coordinator for the event, said the event isn’t just for motorcycle enthusiasts.
Sweet Lovin’ Daddy, a local blues band, will perform from noon to 2 p.m., Crews said. Ashley Dawn will perform from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
The event, which is in its fourth year, is a fund raising event of Covenant Hospice. The organization is a not-for-profit group that is dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate serves to patients and families with life-limiting illness.
Crews also said the organization’s 20 staff members provided more than 3,500 hours of service with the help of 154 volunteers.
Covenant Hospice also provides educational programs on end-of-life care to area facilities and healthcare professionals. Last year, the organization awarded 253 hours of credit towards the renewal of healthcare professional licenses out of the Brewton office.
Registration for the bike show begins at 9 a.m. The $10 entry free must be paid before the 10:30 a.m. deadline for bike registration. The bike show will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Trophies will be awarded for first, second, third and people’s choice awards.
A bike ride will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon and will follow a trail through Escambia and Conecuh counties. The cost of the bike ride is $20 per bike.
