Former teacher Larry Tindell pleaded not guilty Thursday during an arraignment on new charges made in an indictment earlier this month.
Tindell, 48, of Brewton, was named in a grand jury indictment charging him with seven counts of possession of child pornography; two counts of second-degree promoting prostitution; two counts of furnishing drugs to a minor; and one count of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.
Tindell had first been arrested Feb. 10 on a grand jury indictment charging him with distribution and illegal possession of a controlled substance. Following a search of his home, officers charged him with three counts of possession of child pornography. Those counts were included in the second grand jury indictment.
Tindell, who retired from his position as a special education teacher at W.S. Neal High School after his arrest, was released on a $525,000 property bond Monday.
