Mrs. Evelyn Black Morris, 80, died Sunday, May 31, 2009, in a Pensacola, Fla., medical center after an extended illness. She was a native of McClellan, Fla., and a long time resident of Brewton. She was a member of North Brewton Baptist Church and a retired bookkeeper from the Escambia County Board of Education with more than 40 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, James G. “Jeff” Morris.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda Langham, Paula Megginson, and Sandra (Hal) Clements, all of Brewton; four grandchildren, Keith Megginson, Bart Langham, Candy (Jeff) Williams, and Cade Langham; and five great-grandchildren, Spinks Megginson, Grant Megginson, J.T. Williams, Palmer Williams and John David Williams.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 3, at 11 a.m. at North Brewton Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael King and the Rev. John Mathieu officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
