Mr. Millard Joel Godwin, 74, died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at his Jay, Fla., residence. He was a native of Escambia County, and had been a resident of Jay for the past two years, coming from Tennessee.
He owned and operated a steel construction company for a number of years. He was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of the Masons.
He is survived by his wife, Kay “Casey” Godwin of Jay; a daughter, Patty Knowles of Pineview; a stepson, Jeremy Jaco of Fairview, Tenn.; a brother, Norman Godwin of Pineview; a grandson, Brandon Knowles; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 1, at 2 p.m. at Craver’s Funeral Home with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.
