Keahey to be sworn in Thursday

Marc Keahey will be sworn in Thursday as the new state senator for District 22, which includes Escambia County.
Keahey, a Democrat from Grove Hill who currently serves in the state House of Representatives, defeated Greg Albritton June 2 for the seat formerly held by the late Pat Lindsey.
Keahey, who was elected to the House in 2006, will serve the remainder of Lindsey’s term through 2010.
Keahey will be sworn in at 2 p.m. in the main courtroom of the Escambia County Courthouse. The public is invited.
His district includes all or part of Baldwin, Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Escambia, Mobile, Monroe and Washington counties.
