Make plans for annual festival

What do Ronald McDonald, a magician, antique cars and blueberries have in common?
All of them — and more — will be downtown on Saturday for the 29th annual Alabama Blueberry Festival.
While temperatures are expected to be rather warm that day, the Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce is working on some ways to cool down — and of course the Kiwanis Club will be selling its famous blueberry ice cream to help everyone chill out.
The festival is a great way to enjoy the company of fellow residents and show off our community to visitors.
With arts and crafts, games and activities for children, a car show, motorcycle ride, food and, of course, blueberries by the flat and on the bush, there is no shortage of fun for everyone in the family. Some local crafters will be on hand, and even Ronald McDonald will be making an appearance to greet children at the park. (And we hear he will be riding into the park in style — in a fire truck, no less.)
So many people have been working hard behind the scenes to make the Blueberry Festival a success again this year.
Our community is lucky to have the kind of business and community ambassadors who want to showcase our community and create a fun festival that everyone can enjoy.
We hope to see you out and about Saturday.
