A Brewton resident died in a mobile home fire this afternoon at Blueberry Hill trailer park.
Appleton Volunteer Fire Department Chief Mike Tyler confirmed the death of one occupant at the mobile home.
Eyewitnesses at the scene said the victim was seen going into the home shortly before smoke was noticed coming from the mobile home.
Appleton Volunteer Fire Fighters were dispatched to the dispatched to the scene just after 1 p.m. Tuesday. The mobile home was fully engulfed in flames when fire fighters arrived on the scene.
Members of the Brewton Fire Department assisted in the blaze. Brewton Police Department offices as well as members of the Escambia County Sheriffs Department also responded to the scene.
