Mr. Early Howard, 86, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, in a local nursing facility. He was a native of Silas and a lifelong resident of Escambia County. He was a member of Second Saint Siloam Baptist Church and had been an equipment operator at T.R. Miller Mill Company.
He is survived by three sons, Early (Cynthia) Howard Jr. of Savannah, Ga., and Robert Howard and Richard Howard, both of Brewton; three daughters, Dr. Mamie (Dr. Dennis) Howard-Golladay of New York, Bobbie (Amos) Anistead of Rocky Mount, N.C., and Bettye Howard-Smith of Indiana; one sister, Lois (Alex) Hutchinson of Laurel Hill, Fla.; 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and a host of other friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be held, Saturday, July 11, at 11 a.m. at Baptist Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Willie J. Blue officiating and Jones Funeral Home of Monroeville directing.
