TRM’s Cook to play in North-South football game

Recent T.R. Miller graduate and former football player Mabry Cook has been selected to play in the North-South All Star football game July 17 at All Star Sports Week in Huntsville. 
Cook, who signed to play with the University of North Alabama, will play linebacker for the South squad.
Cook had an outstanding career for the Miller Tigers, playing linebacker and offensive tackle, long snapper and also served as team captain. 
The Tigers finished with a 13-1 record during the 2008 season.
The lone loss for the Tigers was a 40-35 loss to state runner-up Cordova.
Mabry also ran track and was a key member of the 2009 T.R. Miller Track Team that won the AHSAA State 3A Track Meet this past May in Gulf Shores. 
Miller Coach Jamie Riggs said that Cook will be an outstanding addition to the team. 
Cook reports for practice at North Alabama on Monday, August 3.
Cook reported to Alabama A&M University  on Monday, July 13, to begin practice for this week’s game.
UNA is coached by former Auburn University head coach Terry Bowden.
This is will Bowden’s first year at the helm at the University of North Alabama.
Cook was one of 27 signees for first year Lion head coach and former Auburn head coach Terry Bowden.
Cook totaled more than 44 solo tackles for the Tigers during his senior season and assisted in 54 other tackles for a total of 98 tackles. Those stats were through 12 of the Tigers 14 games this past season.
Cook had three tackles for loss and had one deflection and one fumble recovery for the Tigers.
