Donations of time and money continue to help spruce up Wayne Stallworth Memorial Mini Park.
The park is dedicated to the memory of Wayne Stallworth and brothers Sean, John and Thomas Miller, who were killed 21 years ago in a car accident just as they were on the cusp of adulthood.
Wayne’s mother, Pearl Stallworth, has maintained the park for many years as a memorial to her son. When a pavilion at the park burned down earlier this year, volunteers helped rebuild it with donated materials.
And late last week, Creamer Dozer of Brewton was on the site to clear some of the trees and brush from the park.
Pearl Stallworth said she is appreciative of the donations and the help — and she hopes more people will step up to keep the improvements coming.
Stallworth said she would also like to have new playground equipment at the park. “What we have is bent and broken,” she said.
Creamer Dozer helped excavate at the park last week, Stallworth said.
Anyone interested in donating to the park can contact Stallworth for more information.
