John Richard “Rick” Garmeson|East Brewton

Mr. John Richard “Rick” Garmeson, 59, of Dailey Street, died Monday, July 27, 2009, at a local hospital after an extended illness. He was a native and former resident of Chatanooga, Temm., before moving to Brewton in 1964. He was retired from the U.S. Navy with 20 years of service and was a member of the Brewton First Baptist Church. He was a 1968 graduate of T.R. Miller High School and he was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia Louse Garmeson.
He is survived by his father, Warren J. Garmeson; his wife, Sandra Pace Garmeson; two daughters, Andreana G. (Chris) Johnson M.D. and Erin G. (Chad) Jordan; two brothers, Reginald L. (Joyce) Garmeson and Martin P. (Patricia) Garmeson; two sisters, Louanne G. (Ronnie) Crumpton and Warene L. (Scott) Sheridan; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 31, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Brewton with the Rev. Ron Headley and the Rev. Lowell Thomas officiating. Burial with military honors followed at Fort Crawford Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
