Mr. Julian Ory O’Bannon, 78, died Saturday Aug. 1, 2009,  at a local nursing facility after a brief illness. He was a native of Brewton and a former resident of Mobile. He was a retired auto mechanic and a U. S. Army veteran.  Mr. O’Bannon was a member of the Robertsdale R.L.D.S. Church and member of the VFW of Robertsdale.
He has preceded in death by his wife,  Bernice O’Bannon and a  son, Jimmy O’Bannon.
His survivors include two sons, John (Adah) “Butch” O’Bannon of Andalusia, and Shelton A. (Amy) O’Bannon of Mobile; two sisters,  Mayre Gardner of Texas and Trudy Pettway of Milton, Fla.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday Aug. 6,  2009, from noon until 2 p.m. at  Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with  the Rev. John Huggins officiating.
Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in Brewton.
