Mrs. Edith Pauline Blair, 84, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2009, in a Mobile hospital. She was a native of Brewton, and had been a resident of Coden for the past 30 years, coming from Theodore. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dial Arrant Blair; her parents, Pearl Herbert Jernigan and Ella Amanda Harris Jernigan; two sons, Bobby Ray Thomas and Jimmy Ray Thomas; one brother, six sisters, and two great-grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters, Jackie (James) Jones of Rudy, Ark., Phyllis (Richard) Meadows Strickland of Wilmer, and Joyce (Gary) Parker of Coden; one sister, Annie Laura Thomas of Riverview; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Chavers officiating. Burial will follow at Cooper Cemetery with Craver’s Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be Ritchie Thomas, Randy Thomas, Daren Meadows, Nick Blake, Matt Blake and Josh Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Jones, Jeremy Jones and Jake Parker.
