Greater Brewton Area Lions Club members have taken another step to help those who are blind or have vision impairment.
They have provided the sponsorship of a Southeastern Area Guide Dog. Club leadership chose to name the guide dog “Brewton” to recognize the citizens of Brewton who have provided this sponsorship. The cost of sponsorship for one guide dog is $2,750.
Patti Mitchell, who is a director on the Lions Club Board of Directors, is very excited about the sponsorship.
Southeastern Guide Dogs is a premier, internationally accredited guide dog school in Palmetto, Fla. and the only guide dog school in the Southeastern United States
Melissa LaPointe is the trainer and “Brewton” will be living with her for the next year or more.
