A new sign in East Brewton will allow the city to advertise community events.
The East Brewton City Council last week gave permission to Bill Salter Signs to erect a new digital sign next to City Hall. The company had to get a variance for the new sign.
City Clerk Karen Singleton said a portion of the new sign will be designated to the community for posting meetings, events and even Amber Alerts.
Also last week, the council also amended the city licenses to require liability insurance on contractors ($300,000) and skilled laborers ($100,000).
