A partnership of Jim Peach Motors, Jim Peach Chevrolet and Comfort Care Hospice is helping students get the school supplies they need.
With some parents struggling to make ends meet, school supplies may be a luxury they cannot afford, said Charlotte Brantley, administrator of Comfort Care. The hospice wanted to help fill the need.
In addition to parents struggling to pay for school supplies, school districts themselves are feeling the pinch. Because of state budget cuts, teachers did not receive their normal supply stipend this year for their classrooms.
Brantley said many businesses and individuals stepped up to help the program.
