After posting one of the better records the school has ever seen in volleyball last season at 15-4, the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers failed to make it out of the area tournament last season.
This year, with only one senior on the team, Lady Tiger head coach Greg White, who will be in his third season as head coach, knows that the area games against Cottage Hill, Bayside Academy, and Choctaw County will be very important and key games to win this season.
With only one senior, Janel McCorvey, T.R. Miller shows five juniors, seven sophomores, and six freshman on the 2009 team.
White said for his setters, he has three girls fighting for the same position.
Natalie Neal will return as an outside player this year and will be a junior and Leigh Margaret Bostic will also be a junior there this season.
Emily Waters will be a junior for the Lady Tigers this season and will see time at middle and outside and is another good server.
White said Amber Nelson, a sophomore, will see some time on varsity this year in the middle as well as Jerrica Watson who is also a sophomore.
T.R. Miller will have 15 games on the schedule this season with eight home games and seven away.
After the 15 games, the Lady Tigers will join W.S. Neal, Flomaton and Escambia County in the county tournament, which is set to be held at T.R. Miller this season.
The Lady Tigers will begin their season with a tri-match in Flomaton against Flomaton and Baldwin County.
