TRM Lady Tiger volleyball still perfect

The T.R. Miller Lady Tiger volleyball team improved to 5-0 Thursday at home and the JV team picked up their first win of the season as they defeated Monroe County.
T.R. Miller’s varsity team won 3-0 over Monroe County while the JV team won 2-0. The win for the JV team improved them to 1-2.
T.R. Miller varsity 3, MCHS 0 Game one: T.R. Miller 25, MCHS 10
Janel McCorvey had nine straight service points to make a 4-3 T.R. Miller lead become 13-3. Natalie Neal followed with five straight to make it 18-5 as the Lady Tigers went on to win game one 25-10.
Game two: T.R. Miller 25, Monroe County 13
Leigh Margaret Bostic led all servers with eight service points in the win. McCorvey and Leah Brundidge added six each in the win.
The game started off with a 4-1 Lady Tiger lead and the lead grew to as many as 11.
Game three: T.R. Miller 25, Monroe County 12
Brundidge had seven straight service points to make a 6-5 Monroe County lead turn into a 12-6 Lady Tiger lead.
After surrendering one point, Emily Waters reeled off six in a row to make it 18-7 T.R. Miller lead. McCorvey finished it off with five in a row to get the 25-12 win.
T.R. Miller JV 2, Monroe County 0
The JV Lady Tiger team earned their first victory of the season on Thursday with a 2-0 sweep of Monroe County.
T.R. Miller won 25-18 in game one and 25-20 in game two.
In game one, Audrey Hamric led the team with five service points and one ace along with Amber Nelson who had four points and one ace. Haley Brown added three and one ace.
In game two, Nelson had four points, one ace, and two kills in the win and Takeysia McFugerson had four points and one ace.
