Mr. Willie James King, 63, died Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, in a Pensacola hospital after a brief illness. He was a native and life-long resident of Brewton. He was a graduate of Southern Normal and a member of Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a former employee of Container Corporation of America for 28 years. He is preceded in death by his son, Derek A. King.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Dora Jean King; a daughter, Yada King-Horace (Frederick).
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Presley-Fluker Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 17. at 11 a.m. at Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, located in the Boykin community, with the Rev. Johnny F. Atkins officiating. Burial will follow at Boykin Community Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
