The T.R. Miller Tiger football team enters week five’s non-region week against Clarke County at home this Friday night.
T.R. Miller is coming off a big win over Central of Hayneville 62-14, while Clarke County comes off a 45-17 loss to UMS-Wright.
T.R. Miller is currently No. 1 in class 3A with a 4-0 overall record and a 3-0 record in class 3A region one.
Clarke County is 1-3 overall in class 4A and 1-2 in class 4A region one.
T.R. Miller Tiger head coach Jamie Riggs said that Friday’s win was a good win for the team and a lot of people were able to play.
T.R. Miller comes into the non-region week scoring 163 points and giving up 71 points and Clarke County has scored 56 points and given up 114 points.
The Tigers own a 26-3 record over Clarke County winning last year 17-14 in Grove Hill.
Riggs said the Bulldogs lost their snapper against Jackson along with their punter and their quarterback.
Riggs said Clarke County scored first and then scored again and he knows that they have their best running back from last season.
Riggs also noted the change of the offense for Clarke County from the wing-T to the spread offense.
With the halfway mark of the season this week, Riggs said he has been disappointed in his team as of late.
Game time is set for 7 p.m. in Brewton Friday night.
