Nelson takes first for TRM CC girls

T.R. Miller’s boys and girls cross country teams ran in their second race of the 2009 season Saturday in Pensacola in the Washington High School Wildcat Invitational.
T.R. Miller’s boys took 19th place out of 23 teams and the girls finished sixth out of 21 teams.
For the boys, Brandon Nelson led the Tigers with a 30th overall place with a time of 17:50.87 and was followed by Matt Ray who took 92nd place with a time of 20:04.97.
Christian Carlson placed third for the Tigers with an overall 104th place finish and a time of 20:39.25 and Carter Fezerell placed 155th with a time of 27:07.21.
For the Lady Tigers of Brewton, Katie Nelson led all runners in the race as she claimed first place with a time of 19:53.84.
Sister Karisa Nelson claimed fourth place with a time of 20:02.64 and was followed by Shelby Youngblood who placed in 12th place with a time of 20:40.93.
Amber Nelson took 72nd place with a time of 23:28.00 and Amber Terry placed 111th with a time of 25:25.11.
Taylor Guthrie and Abbie Carlson rounded out the finishers for the Lady Tigers with a 139th and 150th place respectively.
Guthrie finished with a time of 27:54.62 and Carlson ran a time of 30:47.50
