W.S. Neal enjoys victory at home

W.S. Neal Eagle Jeremy Nicholson accounted for five Eagle touchdowns Friday night as they Eagles picked up a 54-32 win over the Calhoun Tigers in East Brewton.
Nicholson had four rushing touchdowns and a 45-yard interception return for a touchdown as W.S. Neal picked up the 22-point win.
The win improved W.S. Neal to 2-3 overall this season after going on a three-game losing streak after a win in week one.
Calhoun fell to 1-4 with the loss.
W.S. Neal struck for two first quarter touchdowns, both by Nicholson to lead 14-0 with 3:43 left in the first quarter and by 14 at the end of the quarter.
With the lead at 14-6 after a Calhoun score, Nicholson intercepted his first of two passes in the game to set up a 3-yard run to put W.S. Neal up 21-6 with 4:01 left in the first half.
Bradley Brown blocked a Calhoun punt and ran it to the 3-yard line to set up W.S. Neal with a 28-6 lead with 2:11 left after a Tyrone Dees 3-yard run.
W.S. Neal would lead 28-12 at the half and after taking leads of 35-12, 41-12, and 47-12 allowed a lot of younger kids to play.
W.S. Neal would add a late touchdown after Calhoun cut the lead to 47-20 to go up 54-20 and hand on for the win.
The Eagles had 261 total yards of offense with 226 coming on the ground while Calhoun had 287 total and 250 in the air.
Nicholson led with 73 yards rushing and four touchdowns and Dylan Godwin was 3-for-5 passing for 24 yards with Marquese Banks had two catches for 27 yards.
