TRM B-team beats WSN

The T.R. Miller Tiger B team jumped out to an early 14-0 lead against W.S. Neal Monday night in Brewton and held on for a 14-6 win after stopping the Eagles on fourth down at the 19-yard line.
The win improved the Tigers to 3-0 this season while W.S. Neal fell to 1-1 in their record.
T.R. Miller jumped out to an early 6-0 lead after a 1-yard touchdown run by Jamaal Spears with 5:34 left in the first quarter. Ricky Curry caught the two-point conversion pass from quarterback Conner Denton to put the Tigers up 8-0.
Louis Miller intercepted an Eagle pass and returned it to the 15-yard line with 1:48 left in the first half. Eric Maye scored from 15 yards out to put the Eagles up 14-0 at the half.
W.S. Neal then cut the Tiger lead to 14-6 with 4:57 left in the third quarter when they used an eight-play drive to go 65 yards. The play helped the team get their first points on the board as Marquese Banks scored from two yards out.
After a Tiger fumble, T.R. Miller stopped W.S. Neal on downs after having first and goal at the 9-yard line.
T.R. Miller was then forced to punt and held W.S. Neal on downs again at the 19-yard line to get the ball and run the clock out for the win.
Spears led T.R. Miller with 69 yards rushing on five carries and one touchdown and Maye had one touchdown and 39 yards on six carries.
For the Eagles, Banks led with 134 yards rushing and one touchdown on 15 carries.
T.R. Miller had 184 total yards of offense with 164 on the ground and 20 in the air with eight first downs.
W.S. Neal had 213 total yards with 176 on the ground and 37 in the air with 14 first downs.
