After giving up 20 unanswered points in the fourth quarter last Friday night against Hillcrest in a homecoming loss, the W.S. Neal Eagles will travel to UMS-Wright in Mobile this Friday night.
UMS-Wright comes into Friday night’s game with a 4-2 overall record and a 3-1 record in the region after defeating Jackson 51-24.
W.S. Neal’s loss Friday night dropped them to 2-4 overall and to 0-4 in region play.
This week, the Eagles will take on the defending class 4A state champions in Mobile for the Bulldogs homecoming and the UTV44/Comcast Game of the Week, which will be shown on television.
UMS-Wright lost their lone region game to Thomasville in week two 42-37.
Jordan said UMS-Wright is very well coached on both sides of the ball and on special teams.
Some notable Bulldog players are quarterback No. 10 Bragg Foshee and running back No. 22 Chris Dukes.
Jordan said on defense, UMS is very solid and has a great middle linebacker in No. 57 Jay Prosch.
W.S. Neal offensive coordinator Robbie Grace said his team is going to have to play well this week to help get a win for the Eagles against the UMS defense.
Game time between the Eagle and Bullddogs is set for 7 p.m. in Mobile.
