Brewton Middle School improved their record to 5-0 last Thursday with a win over Monroe county, 34-0.
The previous game was played in Monroeville in a torrential down pour and was won by a score of 12-6 by the Brewton Middle School football team.
On the first kickoff, Brewton caused a fumble recovered by Ladd Sawyer in Monroe County on their 32-yard line.
Dominique Jackson set up the first touchdown by runs of 20 and eight yards respectively. After blocking by the offensive line, Kameron Coleman ran in untouched from four yards out.
In the very next series for the Tigers, the stingy defense was at work with Ashton Wilson tackling Monroe’s running back for an eight-yard loss setting up 4th down and a punt.
The snap went over the punters head resulting in a safety and Corey Carter returned the free kick to Monroe’s 12-yard line setting up a touchdown on the very next play by Kameron Coleman.
The score was 18-0 at the end of the first quarter in favor of the Tigers from Brewton.
A 30-yard pass deflected and caught by Caden Lodge on the 6-yard line set up the third touchdown, scored by Chandler Brown.
The final touchdown was scored in the third quarter, on an 8-yard touchdown run by Dominique Jackson.
The next game will be played at Ernest Ward on Oct. 15.
