The Brewton Lions Club members have been busy preparing for their annual car and motorcycle show to be held today downtown.
The event will be situated behind the Escambia County Courthouse on Belleville Avenue.
The car show will begin with registration at 8 this morning, with flag and opening ceremonies to be held at 9 a.m.
Awards will be presented in a ceremony scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
Patti Mitchell, a board member for the group, said the event is a major fundraiser for the organization.
Registration fees are $25 per entry. Registration fees also include lunch.
Food will be plentiful at the event as well, which also helps to bring in funds for the group, Mitchell said.
Trophies will be presented at the end of the day, Mitchell said.
Mitchell said with several business sponsors, this year the event should be a success.
Mitchell said the current state of the economy has slowed down some support, but the group is thankful for the support this year.
Mitchell said coordinators for the event have been busy working hard to help create interest and support for the event.
Ronnie Tucker will be coordinating a motorcycle ride beginning at 1 p.m., Mitchell said. The cost of the ride is set at $10 per entry and is held as part of the fundraising event of the group.
Signs are in place throughout the downtown Brewton area directing visitors to the event.
