WSN volleyball falls at area tournament

In the class 4A area tournament Tuesday in Mobile at UMS-Wright, W.S. Neal had their season come to an end with a 3-0 loss to No. 2 seed Jackson to the season with a 12-10 record.
W.S. Neal, the No. 3 seed in the tournament, lost 25-19, 25-20, and 25-17 to end their season.
Haley Lum led with six service points in game one and Brittany Revel had four.
In game two, Sydney Andrews led with six service points and Amanda Crawford had five.
In game three, Lum led with five service points followed by four from Brittany Revel and Malary Booker.
As for the 2009 overall season, Shelly said it went well.
Escambia County tournament
The W.S. Neal Lady Eagle volleyball team took third place in the Escambia County Tournament Saturday at T.R. Miller High School in Brewton.
The Lady Eagles finished the tournament with a 1-2 record and finished their regular season schedule with a 12-9 overall record.
The Lady Eagles opened the tournament with a 2-0 win over Escambia County before falling to T.R. Miller 2-0 in game two.
In game three, W.S. Neal dropped a 2-1 decision to Flomaton in a game that determined the second place winner.
W.S. Neal defeated Escambia County 25-15 and 25-14 before falling 25-22 and 25-14 in game two to T.R. Miller.
In the final game of the tournament for the Lady Eagles, W.S. Neal won game one 27-25 before falling in games two and three 25-23 and 15-11.
W.S. Neal 2, ECHS 0
Megan Pence led the Lady Eagles in game one with eight straight service points and three aces.
Sydney Andrews led in game two with six points, one ace, and two kills.
T.R. Miller 2, W.S. Neal 0
Haley Lum led W.S. Neal in a game one loss to T.R. Miller with seven service points and one ace and Pence led in game two with two points.
Flomaton 2, W.S. Neal 1
Against Flomaton, Lum led with four points in the game one win and Andrews led in game two with four points and one kill.
In the deciding game three, Casey Wilson led with three service points.
WSN 3, Pleasant Home 0
In the final regular season game for the W.S. Neal varsity Lady Eagle team and the JV Lady Eagles, the varsity defeated Pleasant Home 3-1 while the JV fell 2-0.
The loss for the JV Lady Eagles ended their season with an 8-2 record while the varsity improved to 11-7.

In game one for the JV, Alia Fountain had six service points to lead W.S. Neal
JV Game 2: PH 25, W.S. Neal 22
In their game two loss, Paige Grantham had six service points followed by four from Tisha Gibson and Lauren Boatwright.
Varsity Game 1: PH 25, W.S. Neal 16
In the first game for the varsity, Malary Booker led with five service points in the loss.
Game 2: W.S. Neal 29, PH 27
Amanda Crawford had nine service points and Casey Wilson led with six service points.
Game 3: W.S. Neal 25, PH 17
In game three, Sydney Andrews had10 service points to lead in the win.
Game 4: Neal 25 PH 21
Malary Booker had seven service points and Amanda Crawford and Sydney Andrews had six service points.
