EB youth football takes down Greenville

On Saturday, Oct. 17, the East Brewton Youth football teams finished up their home games for the year.
East Brewton hosted the Greenville Tigers at W.S. Neal High School with sunshine and cooler temperatures that were perfect for football.
The EB’s Midgets started the day off early with a 10 a.m. game time that was just the beginning of a great day of football.
After a scoreless first quarter Greenville was the first to put points on the board with a touchdown but no point after conversion leaving the score Greenville 6 and EB 0 going into halftime.
Finally in the fourth quarter of play, EB’s Marcus Dillard (#13) rushed for a 38-yard touchdown with Christian Madden (#12) following up with the extra point.
Christian Madden (#12) led EB with 11 carries for 49 yards, Marcus Dillard (#13) had two carries for 41 yards and Caleb Sexton (#15) carried the ball one time for four yards.
Brendan Jenkins (#5) led EB’s defense with a total of four solo tackles. Also contributing to the Midgets defense were Dylan Ingram (#4), Triston McCreary (#8), Conner Nelson (#9), Paxton Scurlock (#11), Christian Madden (#12), Marcus Dillard (#13), Caleb Sexton (#15), Konner Wood (#20), Walker Cunningham (#26) and Aaron Morton (#29).
The final score: East Brewton 7, Greenville 6.
Greenville 24,
EB Tiny Mites 0
EB’s Tiny Mites struggled on both sides of the ball and ended up going home with their second loss of the year.
Quarterback Matthew Thomas (#40) and the EB Tiny Mites could not get past the Tigers defense, nor could EB’s defense stop Greenville from scoring.
This was EB’s only loss of the day and ended with a score of Greenville 24 and East Brewton 0.
EB Termites 20,
Greenville 0
The East Brewton Termites continued their winning streak at home with three shutouts in a row.
Quarterback Joseph Booker (#11) rushed for a total of 31 yards that included the first touchdown of the day and a point after conversion later in the game.
Christian Taylor (#3) led the Termites in rushing with five carries for 54 yards, one touchdown and one point after conversion. Tyshawn Davis (#22) had two pass receptions for 37 yards that included a 21-yard touchdown. Matt Hutchins (#5) had a reception for 23 yards.
Also contributing to the Termites offensive victory was Keith Barksdale (#1) who had two carries for 17 yards and Jacoby Hawthorne (#2) had two carries for seven yards.
Defensive stats were as follows: Joseph Booker (#11) six tackles; Tyshawn Davis (#22) five tackles; Duane Hamby (#8), J.T. Lane (#32) and Dshoz Lett (#33) each had three tackles.
Jacoby Hawthorne (#2) and Christian Taylor (#3) two tackles each; Tyrese Anderson (#12) and Tyreke Williams (#31) one tackle each.
The final score was East Brewton 20 and Greenville 0.
EB Pee Wees 28,
Greenville 0
The EB Peewee’s kept up to their winning ways by defeating Greenville 28-0.
Offensively the Pee Wee’s used multiple weapons to help in the scoring.
Miles Powell (#16) led the team with four carries for 61 yards rushing; Malcolm Hawthorne (#2) had six carries for 36 yards.
Trey Taylor (#5) had seven carries for 46 yards; Devonte Peterson (#68) had eight carries for 31 yards.
Mykail Johnson (#21) had two carries for 24 yards; Tyshawn Davis (#22) had three carries for five yards; Joseph Booker (#11) had three carries for 10 yards; Troy Lewis (#3) had one carry for three yards.
The scoring started with Miles Powell (#16) scoring on a 1-yard run and the conversion was good by Mykail Johnson (#21). Malcolm Hawthorne (#2) got to the end zone with a 6-yard run and the conversion was good by Mykail Johnson (#21).

The last touchdown of the day was by Devonte Peterson (#68) got to the end zone with a 6-yard run and the conversion was good by Trey Taylor (#5).
Leading the team in tackles and assists were Devin Kiser (#36), Geovoni Little (#29), Lane Chavers (#18), Malik Grace (#15), Joseph Booker (#11), Troy Lewis (#3), Tyshawn Davis (#22), Mykail Johnson (#21), Trey Taylor (#5), Miles Powell (#16), Malcolm Hawthorne (#2), and Matt Franklin (#53).
Division playoffs will begin Saturday, Oct. 31 in Georgiana and the Super Bowl will be Saturday, Nov. 7 in Andalusia.
