Mrs. Mildred Barker Weaver, 93, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2009, in Savannah, after a long illness. She was a native of Gautier, Miss., a resident of McCall community, and Brewton for 15 years before moving to Savannah in 1979. She was a former member of Catawba Springs Methodist Church and Alco Baptist Church. She was a retired school teacher and she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Hagood Weaver.
She is survived by three daughters, Jane Adams and Jo Weaver, both of Savannah, and Judy Weaver of New Orleans, La.; a grandson, Craig Adams; three great-grandchildren of Savannah; one niece, Anita W. Wall of Brewton; and a cousin, JoAnne Barker Moss of Athens, Ga., formerly of Brewton.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 3 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Home, Hodgson Chapel, in Savannah. Burial will follow Friday, Nov. 6, at Union Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.
