TRM Lady Tigers CC advances to state meet

At the 3A sectional cross country meet in Auburn Thursday, T.R. Miller’s girls cross country team took second place to advance to the state meet next week and the boys finished fourth overall.
Atkinson said his team had seven runners run their best times of the year and that is always a great accomplishment for any runner.
For the girls, as Atkinson mentioned, Karisa Nelson placed first overall with a time of 19:07.55, Katie Nelson took second with a time of 19:55.23, and Shelby Youngblood placed third overall with a time of 19:58.64.
The Lady Tigers finished second, eight points behind Montgomery Academy.
Amber Nelson placed in 13th with a time of 21:52.62 and Amber Terry placed 26th with a time of 23:17.90.
Taylor Guthrie finished in 37th place with a time of 25:36.01 and Abbi Carlson placed 43rd with a time of 27:51.74.
For the boys, the Tigers placed fourth overall. The top three teams go to the state meet and the top six individuals not on the top three teams advance.
Brandon Nelson placed first for T.R. Miller, and second overall, with a time of 16:53.44 and Matt Ray placed fifth with a time of 17:57.20.
Christian Carlson ran a time of 19:24.46 for a 22nd place finish and Taylor Terry placed 39th with a time of 20:31.79.
Carter Ferezel, Ryan Snowden, and Denver Harris rounded out the Tiger finishers with a 54th, 57th, and 59th overall finish respectively.
Ferezel finished with a time of 23:29.09 and Snowden had a time of 24:50.20.
Harris finished with a time of 26:22.46.
