JDCC gets win

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team is months ahead of schedule for the 2009-2010 season—literally.
After having only one win last year, winning their last game of the season, the Warhawks have already picked up their first win this season with an 83-76 win over Pensacola Christian Thursday night in their home opener.
JDCC Warhawk Justin Burroughs led JDCC in the win with 27 points.
JDCC started the game off with a 6-2 lead and lead 12-7 at the 15:47 mark until Pensacola went on a 10-0 run to cut the lead to 17-12 at the 12:50 mark.
JDCC responded with a 13-0 run to claim a 28-19 lead with 8:35 left in the first half.
Pensacola then used a 7-0 run to claim a 34-33 lead with 2:12 left before halftime.
JDCC then closed the half on a 6-0 run to hold a 39-34 lead at the half.
In the second half, JDCC built leads of 11 points and 12 points only to see them get cut to five and six points at the 7:26 mark.
With 1:49 left in the game, JDCC held a 12-point lead at 79-67 and was 4-of-8 down the stretch from the free throw line to win by seven.
JDCC finished the second half with 44 points and Pensacola had 42.
Along with Burroughs 27 points, JDCC had three other players in double figures as Damien Jackson had 16 points, Logan Campbell had 12, and Kentrail Brown finished with 10.
Jamey Goddin finished with eight points and Brandon McCloud had six.
Marquis Williams had three points and Corey Redfearn had one.
Jackson led with eight rebounds, two offensive and six on defense, and Williams had six assists.
Brown had two blocks and Williams added six steals in the win.
