JDCC basketball loses two

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team suffered two losses in their most recent games to fall to 1-3 overall on the season.
The Warhawks lost to Gadsden State 102-101 in overtime Monday before losing to Shelton State 100-77 on Tuesday.
Gadsden State 102,
JDCC 101 OT
JDCC led 43-35 after the first half, but fell to a 53-45 advantage for Gadsden in the second half. The game ended in regulation with an 88-88 tie to force overtime.
In overtime, JDCC was outscored 14-13 as Gadsden State pulled out the one-point win to drop the Warhawks to 1-2 overall.
JDCC had six players in double figures with Kentrail Brown leading the way with 23 and Justin Burroughs following in a close second with 22 points.
Marquis Williams had 14 points and Logan Campbell, Damien Jackson, and Brandon McCloud all had 13 points.
Jayme Goddin had three points in the loss.
Campbell finished with a double-double as he had 12 rebounds and Williamson led with six assists.
Burroughs led with four steals in the loss for the Warhawks.
Shelton State 100,
JDCC 77
On Tuesday, JDCC fell to 1-3 with a 23-point loss at the hands of Shelton State.
JDCC was outscored 44-36 in the first half and 55-41 in the second half.
The Warhawks had four players in double figures with Burroughs leading the way with 24 points and Brown having 19.
Jackson and McCloud both had 10 points in the loss and Campbell and Dennis Miller had four each.
Williams chipped in three points and Tramaine Elliott added two points.
Goddin had one point.
Brown led the Warhawks with eight rebounds and Burroughs led with four assists and seven steals in the loss for JDCC.
Through four games, Justin Burroughs is No. 9 in the country in scoring and No. 4 in steals.  Marquis Williams is No. 28 in assists and No. 7 in steals.  Damien Jackson is No. 45 in steals. 
As a team JDCC is No. 37 in the country in scoring at 87.5 points per game and No. 47 in free throw percentage. 
JDCC will be back in action Monday and Tuesday in Perkinston, Miss. when they take on Mississippi Gulf Coast and Northwest Mississippi.
JDCC will be back at home Tuesday, Dec. 1 when they take on Marion Military at 7 p.m.
