WSN girls fall

The W.S. Neal Eagle basletba;; B-team picked up their first win Friday while the W.S. Neal Lady Eagles picked up their first loss of the season.
The B-team Eagles defeated Flomaton 39-30 to go into the win column for the first time while the Lady Eagles dropped a 38-29 decision to get their first loss.
Both teams will be back in action Monday at home against UMS-Wright with a 4 p.m. tipoff.
The games for the girls and varsity Eagles will be area games.
W.S. Neal B-team 39, Flomaton 30
The B-team Eagles of W.S. Neal outscored Flomaton in all but one quarter Friday in Flomaton to get a 39-30 win for their first win of the season.
The win improved W.S. Neal to 1-2 this season.
W.S. Neal outscored Flomaton 15-13 in the first quarter but was outscored in the second quarter 9-8 to lead 33-32 at the half.
In the second half, both teams struggled for points in the third quarter with W.S. Neal having a 4-2 advantage in the quarter to lead 37-34 heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, W.S. Neal held a 12-6 lead to win by nine.
Jalen Harrod led with 11 points in the game followed by 10 from Josiah Nettles.
Jaleel Elliott and Lorenzo Womack followed with six each and Jaquan Tucker finished with four in the win.
Marquese Banks chipped in two points.
Flomaton 38,
W.S. Neal Lady Eagles 29
Trailing 15-13 at the half, the W.S. Neal Lady Eagles were outscored 23-16 in the second half to suffer their first loss of the season Friday night at Flomaton 38-29.
W.S. Neal led 5-3 after the first quarter, but were outscored 12-8 in the second quarter to cut the lead to two at the half.
In the third quarter, Flomaton outscored W.S. Neal 11-6 and 12-10 in the fourth quarter to get the win.
Freida Folmar and Keyvonnia Kyles both had nine points in the loss.
Megan Andrews and Briana Hawthorne had four points.
Angelique Askew followed with three points for the Lady Eagles in the loss.
