Brewton police are continuing an investigation stemming from a home invasion on McMead Drive Thursday morning.
Brewton Police Chief Monte McGougin said the early morning invasion may not have been a random act.
McGougin said an elderly resident at the home was strong-armed by two males after she answered the door.
McGougin said the victim said the pair demanded all of her cash and other items as they entered the home.
McGougin said the victim stated that she saw a vehicle in the area after the incident.
McGougin said the incident presented an opportunity for police to remind people to be cautious, especially during the holiday season.
McGougin said he is stepping up patrols in the area of the invasion and across the city of Brewton during the holiday season.
McGougin said anyone with information concerning the invasion or possible suspects in the case should call the Brewton Police Department at 867-3212.
