JDCC gets second win

After leading the whole game Monday night at home, the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team pulled off a great rally to improve to 2-6 overall and to 1-0 in conference play.
JDCC found themselves in a seven-point deficit with 3:44 left to play in the game and down 66-60 with 2:30 left to play.
From that point, JDCC went on a 10-0 run to take a 70-66 lead with 16.4 seconds left in the game and outscored Chattahoochee Valley 12-2 the last 1:44 of the game to claim a 72-68 win.

JDCC led 28-20 after the first half, but was outscored 48-44 in the second half.
After leading by as much as 11 points in the second half, the Warhawks trailed 63-56 with 3:44 left in the game after a 7-0 run by the Pirates.
Marquis Williams ended the run at the 3:21 mark to cut the lead to five points.
JDCC then forced a 10-second violation to cut the lead to 63-60, but a Pirate 3-pointer extended their lead to 66-60.
An offensive charge against the Pirates and a turnover let JDCC go on their 10-0 run to claim the 70-66 lead with 16.4 seconds left in the game after William’s three.
Chatt Valley cut the lead to 70-68 with 5.1 seconds left in the game and the Pirates fouled Damien Jackson with 3.9 seconds left.
Jackson sank both free throws to put JDCC ahead by four and seal the win.
JDCC had three players in double figures and was 10-for-15 from the free throw line.
Justin Burroughs led with 16 points and Kentrail Brown followed with 14.
Williams added 10 points and Jackson had nine.
Logan Campbell chipped in eight points along with Brandon McCloud and Jamey Goddin had seven.
Chatt Valley had six 3-pointers in the second half.
