WSNMS girls beat Flomaton, boys fall by one

The W.S. Neal Middle School Lady Eagles improved to 6-0 Friday at Flomaton while the boys fell to 2-4 in recent middle school action.
W.S. Neal will take on Jay in Jay at 4 p.m. today and will conclude their schedule with a home game against Brewton Middle School at 4 p.m.
W.S. Neal Lady Eagles 17, Flomaton 14
W.S. Neal was outscored 10-6 in the second half but hung on to stay undefeated with a 17-14 win.
W.S. Neal led 7-4 after the first quarter and 11-4 at the half with a 4-0 advantage in the second quarter.
Flomaton then responded with a 6-3 advantage in the third quarter to cut the lead to 14-10 and Flomaton cut the lead to one with a 4-3 advantage but W.S. Neal won by three.
Shyler Dees and Jasmine Crook both had six points in the win and Daisha Flowers added three. Mariah Davis chipped in two points in the win.

W.S. Neal’s Middle School boys lost another close game Friday as they lost to Flomaton by one point to fall to 2-4.
W.S. Neal led 6-4 after the first quarter but succumbed to a 10-1 Flomaton advantage in the second quarter to fall behind 14-7 at the half.
In the third quarter, Flomaton outscored the Eagles 11-6 to take a 25-13 lead.
In the fourth quarter, W.S. Neal rallied with a 13-2 advantage in the fourth quarter to cut the lead by 11 points but lost 27-26.
Earnst Benjamin led the Eagles with 14 points and Quantae Barksdale had five.
Antwan Jones had four points and Darius Benjamin added two points. Rob Jones added one point in the loss.
