The Escambia County Commission has approved a declaration of local disaster for the county.
County Adminstrator Tony Sanks said the declaration is the first step toward assistance for the county.
Sanks said if the state meets the minimum threshold amount in damage, the assistance should be granted.
Sanks said there may be a possibility for personal assistance from FEMA as well.
Adams said individuals who experienced damage due to flooding should contact his office with information.
Adams said individuals who have reportable damage as a result of the storm and/or flood, should call his office and give basic details on damage sustained.
