One local grocer has been collecting donations from customers in an effort to help provide food for those in need during the holiday season.
The “Family to Family Holiday Help for the Hungry” program has been underway at Piggly Wiggly in Brewton for several weeks and will continue through the holiday season.
The grocery chain has been a part of the program for several years and is continuing the tradition for the 2009-2010 season.
So far more than 204 local families have benefitted from the generosity of customers at the local store.
Family to Family bins are available at the Piggly Wiggly located at 2135 Douglas Avenue.
