Mrs. Elise Harris Hines, 88, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at her residence. She was a native of Pineapple, a former resident of Loxley, McKenzie and Camden, and a resident of Flomaton. She was a school teacher in in Flomaton, a charter member of the Flomaton Research Club and served as chairman of the Flomaton Library Board for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, McArthur Hines; an unnamed baby girl; three brothers, Hugh, Clarence Don and Will Rogers and two sisters, Dixie and Mildred.
She is survived by two sons, John M. (Laurie) Hines of Oxford, Ga., and William N. (Judy) Hines of Flomaton; two daughters, Joyce (Lewis) Yeouze of Peachtree, Ga., and Helen (Herb) Cannon of Milton, Fla.; two brothers, Billy (Wilma) Harris of Cantonment, and Reefas (Arlene) Harris of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Patricia Mitchell and Betty Sue (Butch) Siefert, both of Pensacola, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister-in-law, Ruth Hines and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at Flomaton Funeral Home chapel with Minister Pete Davis and Elder Larry White officiating. Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.
