Mr. Comer Lee Lowery, 77, of Old Castleberry Road, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, in a local hospital after a brief illness. He was a native of Castleberry and a long time resident of Brewton. He attended Brewton First Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and retired from the construction industry. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Elaine Lowery, and his mother-in-law, Ollie Mae Bartlett.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Bartlett Lowery of Brewton; two daughters, Kathy Lowery (Robert) Jernigan, and Sherry Lowery Craft, both of Brewton; three brothers, Rayford Lowery , Raymond Lowery and Woodie Lowery, all of Brewton; four sisters, Alene Johnson of Panama City, Fla., and Pauline Bell, Nadine Lancaster and Nora Frazier, all of Brewton; three grandchildren, Lee Jernigan, Paul Jernigan and Danny Jernigan; four great-granchildren, Rider Jernigan, Cole Jernigan, John-Robert Jernigan and Brooks Jernigan.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 11, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Fitts officiating. Burial followed at Zion Hill Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
