JDCC Warhawks fall 109-54 to ASCC, now 3-11

In a game against Alabama Southern Thursday in Monroeville, the Eagles handed the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team their fifth straight loss after a 109-54 loss.
The loss dropped JDCC to 3-11 overall and to 2-4 in conference play.
Alabama Southern, whose team is double the size of JDCC’s seven-person team, outscored the Warhawks 52-20 in the first half and 57-34 in the second half to claim the 55-point win.
All but one of Alabama Southern’s 14 players scored in the win over JDCC with five players scoring in double figures.
Kentrail Brown led the Warhawks with 17 points and Marquis Williams followed with 12 points.
Logan Campbell had eight points for the Warhawks and Damien Jackson had seven.
New JDCC Warhawk due to the recent changes on the team Zaviar Likely, from Hillcrest-Evergreen, tallied six points in the loss for the Warhawks.
Jamey Goddin rounded out the JDCC scorers with four points.
JDCC was 14-of-20 from the free throw line for 70 percent and Alabama Southern was 8-for-11 for 73 percent.
JDCC will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to Faulkner State for a 7:05 p.m. conference game tip.
The Warhawks will be back in action at home on Monday, Jan. 25 against Bishop State. The game will begin at 7 p.m. and will be a conference game, as will the remaining games on the schedule for the Warhawks.
