Mr. Otis Leon Evans Sr.. 76, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, in a local hospital. He was a native of the Wild Fork community and had moved back there in 1974, coming from Millry, Ala. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict, serving in the U.S. Army. He had been emplowed with Winn-Dixie and Delchamps for a number of years. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Evans; a sister, Betty Jean Mosley; and a grandson, Austin Evans
He is survived by his wife, Alice Evans of the Wildfork community; four sons; Otis Leon “Sonny:” (Jackie) Evans Jr., Daniel Levon (Melissa) Evans, Larry Eugene (Donna) Evans and Joey Lee (Sharie) Evans, all of Brewton; a brother, Nathan Ellis Evans of Mobile; a sister, Doris (Taylor) Chisholm of Satsuma; seven grandchildren; and one step-grandchild.
Funerals services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 16, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Holiness Church with Brother Johnny Cardwell officating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.
