Still perfect|T.R. Miller Lady Tigers improve to 15-2

Of the three T.R. Miller Tiger basketball teams that traveled to Bayside Academy Friday night, only the T.R. Miller Lady Tiger team came back to Brewton with a win.
The Lady Tigers of Brewton defeated Bayside 56-26 to improve their record to 15-2 overall and kept them with a perfect  4-0 record in class 3A area 1.                                                                                 
The T.R. Miller B-team had the most exciting game of the night, but lost 56-54 in a close one to fall to 3-5 overall this season.                                                                             
The T.R. Miller Tiger varsity basketball team lost 66-40 to the Admirals to drop to 0-14 overall to 0-4 in the area standings.                                                                                           
All teams were set to take on Cottage Hill at home on Friday with games set to begin at 4:30 p.m. with the B-teams tipping off followed by the girls and then varsity action.       
T.R. Miller Lady Tigers 56, Bayside Academy 26
Nakiya Smith had a game-high 19 points, while Leah Brundidge had 12, and Keydra Shedrone added 11 as the visiting Lady Tigers picked up a 56-26 area win over the Lady Admirals Friday night in Daphne.
T.R. Miller outscored Bayside 12-7 in the second quarter to extend their lead to 52-15 heading into the fourth quarter.                                                 
In the fourth quarter, Bayside outscored T.R. Miller 11-4 but the Lady Tigers were able to use the big lead early to take the 30-point win.
Along with Smith, Brundidge, and Shedrone, Courtney Jones and Shay Kiser added four points. Brittany Rush, Desiree Gibbs, and Elizabeth Reed all had two points.                                                                          
From the free-throw line, Bayside Academy knocked down 6-of-11 in the loss against the Lady Tigers of Brewton.
Bayside Academy fell to 1-4 in the 3A Area 1 with the loss while T.R. Miller earned their seventh straight victory with the 30-point win.
The win all but assures the Lady Tigers of securing the area championship regular season crown and the right to host the area tournament in February.

While Tiger Terez Lane paced T.R. Miller with 17 points in the game, the Tigers suffered a 26-point area loss to Bayside Friday night to remain winless this season.                        
T.R. Miller cut the lead to three points with two minutes left before the halftime break, but Bayside went on a short run to hold a 10-point lead at intermission.                                
In the fourth quarter, Bayside outscored T.R. Miller 18-12 to earn the win.
Another factor in the game for the Tigers was the fact that T.R. Miller’s Derrick Riley was held in check the whole night by the Admiral defense.                                                                 
While Lane led with 17 points, Kori Jackson added seven points in the loss for T.R. Miller and Marc Edge added five points.
Bayside Academy 56,

After fighting back from being down at the half to hold a lead in the fourth quarter, the T.R. Miller B-team dropped a 56-54 heartbreaker to Bayside Academy Friday night in Daphne.
Down eight points at halftime 30-22 and 42-35 headint into the fourth quarter of play, the T.R. Miller Tiger B-team came back in the fourth quarter with a 14-3 run to go up 49-43 with four minutes left in the game.                                                                               
Bayside Academy then returned the favor with a comeback of their own to tie the game at 52-52 with two minutes left in the game. 
T.R. Miller would outscore Bayside 19-14 in the fourth quarter to cut into the lead by five but it was not enough as they lost by two points.
T.R. Miller trailed 14-12 after the first quarter and after being outscored 16-10 in the second quarter, trailed 30-22 at the half. T.R. Miller outscored Bayside 13-12 in the third quarter and 19-14 in the fourth quarter.    
Of the 56 total points for Bayside, one Admiral tallied 35 points in the game in the win over T.R. Miller.
Darrion Salter led the Tigers with 18 points and was 10-of-17 from the free throw line.
Caleb Hubbard added 13 points for the Tigers in the loss.Caleb Dickey scored in double-digits by adding 10 points to the score. Mark Bryant chipped in nine points.
