W.S. Neal B-team Eagles end losing streak

The W.S. Neal B-team Eagle basketball team got the monkey off their back Tuesday night.
The Eagles took the game at home with a 50-29 win over the J.U. Blacksher Bulldogs.
The win for the Eagles improved them to 5-12 this season and ended a seven-game losing streak.
The Eagles were able to use a 20-0 run over a span of the first and second quarters as they outscored J.U. Blacksher 19-3 in the second quarter to turn a four-point lead into a 20-point lead at halftime.
W.S. Neal led 11-7 after the first quarter as they ended the quarter with a 3-0 run. That run would extend throughout the second quarter as they held a 28-7 lead with 1:18 left to play before the half and before the Bulldogs scored with 54 seconds left to play.
W.S. Neal would go on to lead 30-10 at the half.
In the second half, play was more evenly matched between the two teams as W.S. Neal held a 13-12 advantage in the third quarter to extend their lead to 43-22 heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, J.U. Blacksher extended their 5-0 run that ended the third quarter to a 10-0 run in the fourth quarter to cut the Eagle lead to 43-27 with 4:38 left to play, but the Eagles from East Brewton would end the game on a 7-2 run and claim the win by 21 points.
W.S. Neal shot 4-of-8 from the free throw line while the Bulldogs shot 4-of-9.
The Eagles had three scorers in double figures with Jaquan Tucker leading the way with 16 points and Percy Travis adding 12 points in the win.
Damion Williams rounded out the double-figure scorers for the Eagles with 10 points.
Jalen Harrod had six points in the win and Jaleel Elliott posted four points in the win.
Donovan Millican chipped in two points for the Eagles.
The Eagles shot six 3-pointers in the win.
W.S. Neal was set to take on Flomaton at home on Friday night and will travel to Pleasant Home on Monday for their final regular season game of the year.
Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
