TRM boys still winless

T.R. Miller’s varsity Tigers finished the regular season winless over the weekend and Monday night in Flomaton with three losses in four days.
The Tigers lost to Monroe County Friday 75-53 before falling to Hillcrest 70-56 on Saturday in Brewton.
A Monday game in Flomaton saw the Tigers end theor regular season with a 0-20 record as they lost to the Hurricanes 66-51.
The Tigers will compete in the area tournament as the No. 4 seed Friday in Butler against No. 1 Choctaw County. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.
Monroe County 75,
T.R. Miller Tigers 53
Friday night in Monroeville, a 21-2 second quarter in favor of Monroe County helped them take a 75-53 win over T.R. Miller and drop them to 0-18.
Both teams scored 17 points in the first quarter, but Monroeville held a 19-point advantage in the second quarter to hold a 38-19 lead at halftime.
In the third quarter, Monroe County held a 22-15 advantage to extend their lead to 60-34 heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, the Tigers of Brewton cut the lead by four points with a 19-15 quarter advantage but lost by 22 points.
Derrick Riley had 24 points and Terez Lane had 10 points. Wes Dickey chipped in eight points and Walter Smith added six points and nine rebounds in the loss for the Tigers.
Hillcrest 70,
T.R. Miller 56
T.R. Miller fell to 0-19 Saturday at home with a 70-56 loss to the Hillcrest Jaguars.
T.R. Miller trailed 20-10 after the first quarter and after both teams matched their first quarter point totals in the second quarter, trailed 40-20 at the half.
In the third quarter, T.R. Miller cut the lead by two points with a 12-10 advantage to trail 50-32 heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, T.R. Miller cut the lead by four points with a 24-20 advantage, but it was not enough as they lost by 14 points.
Riley led with 23 points and Lane had 11 points. Keenan Pride, Smith, and Antonio Payne all had seven points each in the loss for the Tigers.
Edge said that Riley had 15 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter and had three key steals on back-to-back possessions for the Tigers.
Lane was 5-for-6 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter and Pride hit three in the fourth quarter to make it a four-point game.
Flomaton 66,
T.R. Miller 51
Late runs in the game of 11-0 in the third quarter and 10-0 in the fourth quarter helped Flomaton put the game away over T.R. Miller and earn them a 66-51 win over the Tigers.
Flomaton led 14-7 after the first quarter and after T.R. Miller cut the lead to three points in the second quarter, pulled away late to hold a 31-25 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, T.R. Miller got as close as eight points before falling to an 11-0 run and trailing 49-34 at the end of the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, the Tigers got as close as nine points with 4:15 left to play, but a 10-0 run for the Canes helped them take a 15-point win.
Flomaton shot 10-of-21 from the line and T.R. Miller shot 15-of-23.
Riley led with 19 points for the Tigers in the loss and Pride added 11 points.
Smith had eight points and Lane chipped in six points. Dickey added five points and Payne added two points.
