JDCC Warhawk baseball falls to 1-3

After the first four games of the season for the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team, they find themselves at 1-3 to start the season.
After losing to LBW 11-8 to start the season, JDCC dropped to 0-2 after falling to the Saints 11-2 last week in part of a doubleheader against Marion Military.
In the second game of the doubleheader against Marion, JDCC earned their first win of the season with a 4-3 win to go to 1-2 overall.
JDCC fell to 1-3 Monday with a 10-4 loss to Marion.
JDCC will return home Tuesday to face Marion again at 1 p.m. in Brewton.
LBW 11, JDCC 2
LBW scored in every inning except one while holding the Warhawks to just two runs in the sixth inning to get an 11-2 win and drop JDCC to 0-2.
JDCC was held to only four hits while the Saints pounded out 16 in the win.
Ryne Phillips was 1-for-3 for the Warhawks with the lone RBI in the loss and Blake Long was 1-for-4.
Harry Haring was 1-for-2 with a double and Tyler Walker was 1-for-3 with a double.
Andrew Favant took the loss for the Warhawks on the mound as he went three innings and allowed three hits, two earned runs, walked two, struck out two, and hit one batter.
Cody Vickrey, Ryne Drummonds, and William Shell also pitched in the loss for the Warhawks.
Vickery went two innings and allowed three hits, two earned runs, one walk and struck out none. Drummonds went one inning and allowed one run on three hits.
Shell went two innings and allowed four runs on five hits, walked one and struck out one.
JDCC 4, MMI 3
Trailing 3-2 heading into the bottom of the final inning, JDCC scored two runs to win 4-3 for the first win of the season.
Despite having just three hits and three errors in the win, JDCC was able to get the win by one run.
Ryan Jacobs was 1-for-2 at the plate in the win for the Warhawks and Long was 1-for-3.
Taylor Register was 1-for-1 with one RBI.
Phillips and Robbie Jernigan both added one RBI in the win for the Warhawks.
Shane Ikner grabbed the win on the mound for the Warhawks in relief of starter Michael King.
Ikner went the final three innings and allowed one earned run on no hits, one walk, and struck out four while hitting one batter.
King went the first four innings and allowed no earned runs, three hits, and one walk.
MMI 10, JDCC 4
After defeating Marion Military earlier, the Warhawks dropped a 10-4 game at MMI to fall to 1-3 this season.
The Warhawks were held to eight hits in the loss and committed three errors while MMI hammered out 16 hits in the game.
JDCC trailed 2-0 after the first inning, but cut the lead to 2-1 in the top of the second only to fall to two more runs in the bottom of the inning to trail 4-1 after two innings.
JDCC would add two runs in the top of the third inning to cut the lead to 4-3, but MMI scored one run in the third and one in the fourth and then had a four-run seventh inning to take a 10-3 lead.
JDCC would add one run in the top of the ninth, but lose by six.
Reid Wynn led JDCC with a 2-for-4 with a homerun and Taylor Register was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
Matthew Watkins added one RBI in the loss.
Xavier Cunningham was 1-for-2 and Stephen Scoggins was 1-for-1. Ryne Phillips was 1-for-4 along with Harry Haring and Robbie Jernigan was 1-for-3.
Ryne Drummonds took the loss on the mound for the Warhawks as he went three innings and allowed five runs on nine hits, walked one, struck out one, and hit two.
Vickrey went 1/3 of an inning and allowed one run on one hit and walked one and Shelby Jordan went 1 1/3 inning and struck out one and hit one.
Zach Payne went 3 1/3 innings and allowed two runs on five hits, walked two and struck out six.
