Brewton to hold LL softball signup
The newly formed Brewton Little League girls softball program have set the dates for sign up.
Signup will be Monday, Feb. 22, Tuesday Feb. 23 and Thursday Feb. 25 at the T.R. Miller field house from 5:30 p.m. -7 p.m.  Girl's ages 9-10 and 11-12 can signup and a birth certificate is required with a $10 registration fee. Officials said the YMCA will not be offering play in those age groups this year so this is your only chance to play.
Brewton Babe Ruth to have signups
The Brewton Babe Ruth (13-15-year-old) will hold registration Monday March 1 and Thursday March 4.
Registration will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the T.R. Miller Fieldhouse. A $25 fee will be charged per player and all new players need to bring their birth certificate. JDCC to host
hunting classes
A Hunter Education Class will be held March 6 and 7 at Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton.
Classes held March 6 will be conducted from 9 a.m. to noon with a break for lunch. The afternoon session will be from 1 to 5 p.m. The schedule for classes March 7 will be from 1 to 5 p.m.
Students will need to make lunch plans on March 6.
Students must be 10 years old to receive credit and anyone born on or after Aug. 1, 1977 must pass a certified hunter education class before purchasing a hunting license in Alabama.
The course if free to the public.
Students will need their social security number and attend both days to receive credit.

A Hunter Education Field Day Class will be held March 7 at Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Students must first take the Internet/CD course on a computer and bring the printed report to the class with them.

CDs are available at the County Extension Office or by contracting the District 5 W&FF Headquarters at 251-626-5474.
The course if free to the public.

Racers wanted
The The 13th annual Camp Partlow Duathlon will be held Saturday, March 13 at Lake Lurleen State Park.
The Duathlon consists of a 2-mile run followed by a 20-mile road bike ride and ends with a 2-mile run. Cycling helmets are required for all participants in the events..
Participants can register as individuals or a two-person team.
Medals will be awarded to the first, second, and third place finishers in all age divisions.
The race will begin at 8 a.m. with registration beginning at 6 a.m.
A minimum donation of $25 pre-registration for individuals (postmarked by March 5) Registration on event day will be $30 per registrant.
Team registration is $50 per team and $60 on day of events.
