Mr. Curtis Ray Parker, 72, died Monday, March 1, 2010, at a Pensacola hospital. He was a native and life-long resident of East Brewton. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of East Brewton, a member of the State of Alabama Retired Teacher’s Association, and retired superintendent for the Escambia County Board of Education with more than 39 years of service. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Maria Kay Parker; and his parents, Seals and Bertha Parker.
He is survived by his wife, Sara V. Parker of East Brewton; two sisters, Janet Cheatham of Pensacola, Fla., and Alice Virginia Platt of Tallahassee, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 3, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of East Brewton with the Rev. Larry Watts officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Crawford Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
