Davis and McAnally key TRM win over WSN

The T.R. Miller Tigers used the combination of stellar pitching from Kevin Davis and a two-run homerun by Caleb McAnally Friday night in the Escambia County Tournament in Brewton to down W.S. Neal 2-0.
The win for the Tigers improved them to 2-0 in the tournament and overall this season while dropping W.S. Neal to 1-1 in the tournament and to 3-2 overall.
Davis struck out 17 Eagles and allowed only one hit in the complete game seven innings. McAnally hit his second homerun in as many games for the Tigers to score the games only runs with a two-run homerun in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Davis allowed no runs, one hit, struck out 17, walked five and hit two in the win in his first high school start.
W.S. Neal head coach Coy Campbell said his team struggled at the plate in the loss.
As for McAnally’s homerun and two in two games?
W.S. Neal’s lone hit came in the second inning when Damion Williams singled and was 1-for-2 in the game.
Eagle starting pitcher Gary McGraw took the loss on the mound for the Eagles going six innings and allowing two runs on five hits, walked four and struck out six.
McAnally led the Tigers at the plate going 2-for-2 with a homerun and two RBIs.
Ryan Hunt was 1-for-4 and Corey Rilling was 1-for-3. Stephen Warren was 1-for-2 with a double in the win for the Tigers.
