Mr. Leon Victor Howell Sr., 84, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 in a local nursing facility after a brief illness. He was a native of Mobile and a resident of Brewton since 1952. He was a member of Alco Baptist Church and a retired cable repairman from AT&T with more than 35 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Howell of Brewton; three sons, Victor (Peggy) Howell Jr. of Evergreen, Pat Howell of Gainesville, Fla., and Brad (Susan) Howell of Brewton; one daughter, Mary (Gus) Passaflune of St. Louis, Mo.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 1, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. William Joyner and the Rev. Steve Yuhasz officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
